Songwriters: Steff Mahan, Todd Murray, Roy Swindelle and Thomas Oliver
Popular Nashville singer/songwriter Steff Mahan will be joining three local tunesmiths at the Sun., Oct. 28, Savannah Songwriters’ Series.
Steff performs about 200 hundred dates a year and has graced the stages of such notable venues as Atlanta’s Eddie’s Attic, Nashville’s The Bluebird Cafe, NYC’s The Bitter End, Charlotte’s The Evening Muse, and Birmingham’s Workplay Theater.
Her self-titled debut album and her second release, 42.50, both garnered national attention, creating a coast-to-coast fan base from LA to New York. Billboard’s Mike Gionet called Steff’s mix of rock, roots, folk and country “an entertaining can’t-miss performance.”
iTunes may have said it best with its review of her latest album, “Never a Long Way Home,” as “a song collection displaying both craft and heart, sung by an artist who wins extra points for her honesty.”
Joining Steff at Johnny Harris restaurant Sunday will be Todd Murray, who records and often performs under the name Sincerely, Iris.
Connect Savannah said Todd was “one of the most interesting of Savannah’s newest crop of acoustic artists” in favorably reviewing his CD, The Great Unknown.
This is Todd’s second SSS appearance; his first at Johnny Harris.
Roy Swindelle is annually voted best musician on Tybee Island, where he plays as Roy & the Circuit Breakers at Doc’s Bar. Swindelle is a multi-instrumentalist, at ease on guitar, a set of drums, blowing a harp or slipping on a metal slide to play the blues. He is a member of the Savannah Songwriters’ Series.
Thomas Oliver moved to Tybee three years ago from Atlanta, where he primarily played original music with his group, The Usual Suspects. He received several songwriting honors from the Georgia Music Industry Association.
Thomas is an organizing member of the Savannah Songwriters’ Series, which showcases original music twice a month – the second Sunday at Doc’s Bar on Tybee and the fourth Sunday at Johnny Harris restaurant in Savannah.
